Akasha is the Sanskrit word meaning, “ether” or “atmosphere.” In Hindi, it means “sky” or “heaven”. It has been referred to as the “primary substance that out of which all thoughts are formed,” and also, the fifth element.
The Akashic Records are understood to be a collection of mystical knowledge that is encoded on a non-physical plane of existence or “ether.” They are understood to have existed since the beginning of Creation and even before.
The Akashic Records are the universal energetic library of all human events, thoughts, words, emotions, and intent ever to have occurred. Most writings refer to the Akashic Records in the area of human experience but it is understood that all phenomenal experience as well as transcendental knowledge is encoded within them. Each soul has an Akashic record and each energetic book in their record represents one lifetime. Our libraries are immense.
The Akashic Records have been called different names through the ages, and are mentioned in many texts, some sacred:
The Lamb’s Book of Life – The Holy Bible
The Book of Remembrance – The Jewish Bible
The Repository of Thoth – Egyptian Mythology
The Well of Memir-Odin – Icelandic Mythology
Perhaps the most extensive source of information regarding the Akashic Records comes from the clairvoyant work of Edgar Cayce (1877-1945), the most documented psychic of the 20th century. Cayce performed over 14000 readings and when he was asked what the source of the information he received was, he replied there were two. The first was the subconscious mind of the individual for whom he was giving the reading and the second was the Akashic Records. In more modern times, the Akashic Records have been referred to by Psychologist Carl Jung as The Cosmic Mind or Collective Unconscious.
From the Akashic perspective our Soul is perfect and when you are in your Record you see yourself from your Soul’s perspective. Everything that happens, things that are good, bad, easy, difficult, boring and exciting, absolutely everything is your path awakening you to experience your undeniable goodness. The journey of our Soul in this physical body an odyssey into the full awareness of this.
What the Akashic Records are not:
The records are not for fortune-telling; they are not a psychic reading. For example, you will not get the answer you would expect for the question, “When will I find my soul mate?” or, “Who is my soul mate?” What you would ask is, “How do I attract my soul mate?” The Records would probably then ask you to examine what you desire in a soul mate, and then ask you are you reflecting those qualities out in order to bring someone with those qualities to you? And so the work begins as the Records are best used for self-discovery, guidance, and direction on our Spiritual path and in our daily lives.
What type of questions should I ask?
Here are three guidelines to follow:
Avoid questions that begin with when. The Records are eternal and time is irrelevant. They exist everywhere and all at once and always in the here and now. The Masters, Teachers and Loved Ones who will be sharing your message are not bound by or to the parameters of earthly space and time.
Stick with questions that answer what, why, or how.
Why am I……?
What are the advantages or disadvantages of……..?
How can I change……?
Avoid questions with yes or no responses. Questions with yes or no answers don’t work well because the outcome is always up to you and determined by your choices and circumstances.
